Live a cool life!

Listen… it’s not me it’s you! Ok, it’s me, but you know what my life is busy atm and I have a book deadline to meet. So sorry for being a couple of days late.

The blog as you know is a hybrid between lifestyle, personal finance, and investing. Today I will be tapping a bit more into the lifestyle aspect of the blog. I want to encourage you to do exciting things. There are a couple of reasons I am so passionate about this. Firstly, I see how writing a novel has added a little panache to my conversations. I’m not saying I’m the coolest person in the room, but I do talk to a lot of people.

Most of my conversations with acquaintances and non-friends are a version of the following topics =

Weather

“When is it the weekend?”

“What’s for lunch?”

Sometimes we mix it up and do a combination of them. I am only kidding of course, well sort of. These conversations are a good way to pass time but in my opinion, they lack depth and substance you know. The meat and potatoes, where are the meat and potatoes?

I understand that strangers don’t want to always share and most people are way more private than I am. I am however also surprised that when you dig a bit deeper, you come across a person who loves to draw, loves to write, loves to do insert awesome activity here.

The thing that saddens me and the main reason for this post is that often this passion or activity is no longer active in their lives. Whether being told to ‘grow up’ or being discouraged by others close to them, they often don’t do the thing they love. If you told me a few years back I would be in the final stages of completing my debut novel in English I would’ve laughed you out of the room and probably teased you for wearing strange shoes.

I think it’s time to encourage people to be a little weird again. Not too much of course, collecting belly button lint and sniffing it should still be a jailable offense. However, carving things from wood and sharing them with friends should be encouraged. I feel very fortunate to have this blog and now my love for writing novels is a creative outlet for me.

I can’t wait to see where both of them go.

Find what you love

You might be into vintage cars and their renovations. Why not attend some local car shows, talk to a few veterans of the car game, and see how you could start your own collection?

My passion that I am actively pursuing again is board games! Well, we all know I am a nerd, so board games aren’t that much of a surprise I would imagine to most of you. I’ve genuinely fallen into the abyss of board games and board game culture. (Hopefully with a little less BO)

Do it with people you love

As I’ve grown older and hopefully wise, I’ve seen how easy it can be to let key relationships in your life slip. You have to make a conscious effort to ensure your relationships stay strong and fruitful. Some relationships look fruitful but they turn out to be one-sided… (I can hear the praise through the monitor or iPhone screens), those you can let go of.

Once you know what you like doing, find cool people and do it. We live in a world full of frustration, anger, and a lot of people suffering. Doing things that are awesome to you and a larger group of people should be encouraged and done as often as possible.

Do you know what else is cool?

Alright, I’m going to do a very bad job of bringing this back to financial independence alright.

Me: “You know what else is cool?”

You: “What Milan?”

Me: “Investing”

Boom

So add that panache to your life and download my FREE course on how to get started on investing. I will keep it updated as we go along. June is also coming up so I will be sharing how far along we are in our FIRE journey, so stay tuned for that!

Cool Things

📕Books

I am almost done with reading Frank Herbert’s Dune. So far it’s been super interesting. Next up I have Red Rising book 2 in the library.

🎮 Pay to play

One of my friends said he would play video games with me if I bought a Tesla share. I might come across as desperate but I am now the proud owner of a Test share. Stay tuned for the update on if we ever played the games or not…

🤖 AI is scary

Everyone at your work is probably talking about ChatGPT. Others might be using it to write content like the marketing person. If ChatGPT could write an article in a few seconds, that might scare a few marketers. I also think like with many big inventions (PC, Iphonet, etc.) will create more jobs in the long run.

Content writing however might be in trouble…
